The Freshman Studies department places students on the road to success. Through preparatory classes and individualized tutoring, the goal is to enrich the academic experience and enable students to be successful throughout their college experience. All freshman will be enrolled in College Success, and through an assessment process at time of application, it will be determined if preparatory courses in Math, English or Reading are required.

The Arts and Sciences department is a unique program because it allows a wide range of classes. Arts and Sciences can include basic oral communication classes like verbal communication, English, and Math. The program also includes Science classes such as Biology and Environmental Science, as well as the Arts which includes Literature, Theater Arts, and Film. Arts and Sciences is the backbone of a good college education and every student has the opportunity to take part in these wide range of classes.

Are you waiting for your VA Education Benefits? The Department of Veterans Affairs has made funds available for Veteran students who are still awaiting their education benefit claim to be processed. Eligible veterans can receive up to a $3000 advance, which will be recouped from future benefit payments.
If you are a student who applied for one of VA’s education programs and have not yet received your monthly benefit payment for the Fall 2009 term, you can request a one-time advance payment at your local VA Regional Office or through VA’s website, www.va.gov.
