Freshman Studies

The Freshman Studies department places students on the road to success. Through preparatory classes and individualized tutoring, the goal is to enrich the academic experience and enable students to be successful throughout their college experience. All freshman will be enrolled in College Success, and through an assessment process at time of application, it will be determined if preparatory courses in Math, English or Reading are required.

Arts & Sciences

The Arts and Sciences department is a unique program because it allows a wide range of classes. Arts and Sciences can include basic oral communication classes like verbal communication, English, and Math. The program also includes Science classes such as Biology and Environmental Science, as well as the Arts which includes Literature, Theater Arts, and Film. Arts and Sciences is the backbone of a good college education and every student has the opportunity to take part in these wide range of classes.

At Southwest Florida College, the registrar is here to help! From obtaining schedules to transcripts, the registrar's office can provide you with important information to help guide you along your career path.

For transcript requests, schedule changes, or assistance in re-enrolling, please call the Registrar's Office at 239-939-4766 (Ft Myers, Port Charlotte, Bonita Springs Campuses) or 813-630-4401 (Tampa Campus).

It is important that Southwest Florida College has all of your current updated information. If you feel your information on record may be out of date, please take a few moments to call the registrar and update your information. All information supplied to Southwest Florida College is held in the strictest of confidence, and is never released to any third parties without prior written consent.

At Southwest Florida College, our bookstores are constantly running different specials and promotions. Listed below are some of those specials and promotions organized by campus. For more detailed information, please visit the corresponding bookstore on campus.

VA Education Benefits

 

Are you waiting for your VA Education Benefits? The Department of Veterans Affairs has made funds available for Veteran students who are still awaiting their education benefit claim to be processed. Eligible veterans can receive up to a $3000 advance, which will be recouped from future benefit payments.

If you are a student who applied for one of VA’s education programs and have not yet received your monthly benefit payment for the Fall 2009 term, you can request a one-time advance payment at your local VA Regional Office or through VA’s website, www.va.gov.
