The Surgical Technician program is designed to prepare competent, entry-level surgical technicians in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective learning domains. The program prepares students for entry-level positions in a number of healthcare facilities, including hospitals, medical centers and public and private surgical centers.
Programmatic accreditation with ABHES allows the student to sit for the certification exam in surgical technology given by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). After passing this internationally recognized exam, the graduate will earn the credential CST (Certified Surgical Technologist).
