The Institute of Interior Design Program Page

Are you creative or artistic?

Do you find yourself watching design shows?

Do you enjoy decorating your living space?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, then it's time to explore a career in interior design.

Turn your love of design into a rewarding career. Interior designers work with clients and other design professionals to develop design solutions that enhance the function and quality of interior spaces for the purpose of improving the quality of life, increasing productivity, and protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public.

The professional interior designer is qualified by education, experience, and examination. According to the United States Department of Labor, employment of interior designers is expected to grow 19 percent from 2006 to 2016, faster than average for all occupations.

The Institute of Interior Design at Southwest Florida College offers an unparalleled learning environment by surrounding students with experienced professional designers, exceptional working materials and the resources needed to realize a future in interior design.

Whether you want an education and training for a new career or skills that will enhance your performance in your current career, The Institute of Interior Design has a skilled team of professionals and tailored programs that are suited to meet your needs and the needs of the industry.

While the core classes in each program are taught at The Institute of Interior Design, the required general education courses are only offered online or at the Southwest Florida College (SWFC) campuses. The SWFC main campus is a rather short drive north on Interstate 75.
