Bachelor of Science Degree Program - NEW!
The Bachelor of
Science in Interior Design and Decorating is designed to be a
completion degree for individuals who possess an Associate in
Science degree and seek to expand their knowledge and career
opportunities by earning a Bachelor’s degree. The Bachelor of
Science is Interior Design and Decorating is designed to provide
students with advanced levels of skill and knowledge in space
planning, architectural detailing, furnishings, finishes, fabrics
and fixtures for residential and commercial design fields. You will
also learn about the preparation of contract documents, meeting code
compliance, Green design and more.
Upon successful
completion of the Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and
Decorating, graduates will be prepared to seek employment with
private design firms, retail design centers, or home builder design
studios.
The Bachelor of
Science in Interior Design and Decorating is only available
at the Fort Myers campus.
Associate of Science Degree Program
The Interior Design & Decorating Associates degree is designed to prepare students for careers in interior decorating and design. The professional interior designer is qualified by education, experience, and examination to enhance the function and quality of interior spaces for the purpose of improving the quality of life, increasing productivity, and protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public. The two-year program provides students with the technical information and design skills necessary to work as interior design assistants and to start their pursuit of a successful career in either residential or commercial design. Upon successful completion of the program, the student should be able to perform the basic skills necessary to work in interior design, analyze client’s needs, goals, and life safety requirements, coordinate a successful job search, and adapt to the ever-changing world of interior design.
