COMPUTER ANIMATION / MULTIMEDIA PROGRAM

Creative and artistic abilities are brought to life on a computer screen through the Computer Animation/Multimedia program. Needs for high-demand graduates exist in the advertising, marketing, video production and web design fields. Critical skills of animation that are used in character and object development are learned for use in both Mac and PC environments
through current multimedia/animation applications. Technologies taught include Autodesk 3ds Max, Adobe Flash, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Illustrator.

There is a heavy slant towards the creative component of problem solving using the fundamentals of design. Within the program an emphasis placed on kinetic design - creating something that exists on a timeline and has movement. With a heavy application of Adobe Flash and 3ds Max - a three-dimensional modeling software that allows wire frame meshing and skin application to creative virtual objects/characters, students focus most of their designs in relation to advertising.

This program prepares students for a successful career in media design through building a foundation of traditional digital design skill and providing multimedia training of current multimedia/animation applications.

The multimedia / animation program provides a creative atmosphere and a professional environment that simulates “real world” experiences in order to prepare students for entry into the job market.

Each student of the multimedia / animation program will leave the coursework with a digital portfolio of work, as well as a resume and marketing information on themselves, to enter the job market to secure employment.
