The mission of our club is to provide support for its members, help its members become effective educators, be a positive presence in the community, and be recognized as the best education program in Southwest Florida.
We have fundraising events and send half of the money raised to childrens organiztions and the other half on professional development. We had a bake sale and are using the money to buy Montessori toys for a low income Montessori school in Fort Myers. We also just had a silent auction and that money is going to be spent on school clothes for a low income school in Fort Myers.
Some of our members also attended the NAYCE conference in Orlando. We are also planning on going to Washington D.C. for the NAYCE annual expo in November.
We have lots of events planned, but don't have actual dates for them yet. Such as, a fashion show, cook off, golden apple teacher lunch/dinner, Polar Express PJ party, Edison parade and childrens ball. We are also going to be selling chocolates, and having a bake sale the last week of October.
Our main meetings are usually held every Thursday at 5:15 in room 303 at the Fort Myers campus. We also have a repeat of the Thursdays meeting on the next Tuesday at 5:15 in room 305 for those who couldn't make the Thursday one.
