MEDICAL ASSISTING
New Weekend Program Available (Ft Myers Campus Only)
Make lasting impressions on patients.
Southwest Florida College's Medical Assisting program is designed to expose you to both the administrative and clinical aspects of the modern healthcare environment. We place emphasis on medical theory and terminology as well as teach you the practices and procedures associated with the operation of a healthcare facility. You will also learn in our clinical laboratory classes, where you can apply the knowledge you previously studied and further your training in real-world scenarios. When you successfully complete the program, you can pursue entry-level employment as a medical assistant with private physicians, health clinics, hospitals and nursing homes.
Southwest Florida College features an Associate of Science degree in Medical Assisting that can be completed within two years of study. This degree will focus on fundamental medical courses, such as anatomy and physiology, as well as clinical coursework like clinical procedures and pharmacology. Our Associate of Science degree in Medical Assisting is available at both our Ft. Myers and Tampa campus locations for your convenience.
With an ever-increasing patient community, medical assistants and service technicians are in high demand. Southwest Florida College's Associate of Science in Medical Assisting will equip you with the specialized training to make you stand out in your chosen profession.
