Accreditation
Southwest Florida College is a Senior College accredited by the accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award bachelor's degrees, associate degrees, and diplomas. The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The Associate Degree in Medical Assistant at the Fort Myers, Tampa, and Port Charlotte Campuses are also accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, 7777 Leesburg Pike, Suite 314 N., Falls Church, Virginia 22043. (703) 917-9503.
The Health Information Management Associate Degree Program at the Fort Myers Campus is in Candidacy Status pending accreditation review by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM), 223 N.
